Long time member (lotsa lurking in the last few years as I've been somewhat out of the scene) and making my way back due to a new car purchase.
I recently purchased a new 2012 VW Passat Highline (high end Canadian model) with the fender system (8 speaker plus sub) and touch screen deck.
The system sounded ok for the first few months but now it just feels lacking. Guess I'm just used to my previous systems which were pretty decent.
So here's the issue: I want to upgrade but have no idea how to manage the integration into the OEM system.
There's a slew of processors out there and I'm not sure which one to pick.
I'd like to run a 2 way front end and also some speakers in the rear plus a sub or 2, meaning I'll need all 8 channels available so a processor is a must. I have a slew of amplifiers on hand from McIntosh to Arc SE to Audisons to Zapco, so there's enough amplifier channels to do whatever.
Wondering if anyone here has added a processor and how it was done.
I don't want to tear up the car just to figure it out so I'm hoping I can leverage someone else's experience in this process. Pictures would also be awesome!
